Repair on cover plates on Steel bracings . older shorter plates a being removed and replaced with 4ft x3/8" plates being welded with 7018 electrodes . Joints consist of fillet welds and single v-groove welds with a backing. All welders working on this project are qualified with 4GF S-class SMAW , verified at time of visit . All weldments to be visually inspected by Paul Ryan and third party visual and MPI on all weldments

N.S. Department of Public Works Steel Bridge Western is certified to CSA Standard W47.1 “��APP���� of companies for fusion welding of steel” in Division 2 and, therefore, does meet the requirements of CSA S6 “Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code” Clause A10.1.5.5.

CSA S6 Clause A10.1.5.5: “Fabricators and erectors responsible for welding structures fabricated or erected under this Code (including steel piles, railings and guards, or other welded attachments) shall meet the requirements of CSA W47.1 (Division 1 or Division 2).”
