Four questions for Canadian welding and fabrication companies

Canada’s hydrogen sector has moved from policy vision to active construction. More than 80 low-carbon hydrogen projects are now announced or underway across the country, with six already under construction and eight in approval or preparatory stages. These projects represent over $100 billion in potential investment. Hydrogen revenues in Canada reached $180.5 million in 2023, with projections ranging from $20 to $42 billion by 2050. The workforce implications are also significant. The core hydrogen workforce is expected to grow from roughly 10,000 today to as many as 200,000 in the next 25 years.
